Wayfinding software comparisons you can check line by line

We compare DigiMaps only with what each vendor says on its own website, with the page linked and the date we read it. Where a competitor is stronger, the page says so. Where its website is silent, the table says Not stated, never No.

Excerpt of a comparison table with three numbered callouts
Row MapsIndoorsMappedinDigiMaps
Right-to-left layout Yes 1 Not stated Yes
Kiosk fleet management Not stated Not stated 2 Yes
Native iOS and Android SDKs Yes Yes No 3
  1. Credit where it is stated. The MapsIndoors mall page lists left-to-right and right-to-left layouts, so the cell says Yes.
  2. Silence is not a No. Mappedin’s Display page says nothing about managing kiosks remotely. That makes it Not stated, a question to ask them.
  3. The same rule for us. Both competitors document native mobile SDKs. DigiMaps has none yet, so our cell says No.

Four comparisons, each read from the vendor’s own pages

Every page covers what the vendor does well, when it is the better choice, when DigiMaps may fit better, and a sourced table. All four were checked on 24 October 2026.

How a cell gets its value

The same five steps for every vendor, including us.

  1. We read the vendor’s own pages: product, pricing, security and developer docs. Review sites and analyst lists don’t count.
  2. We note the exact page and the date. The URL goes in the sources line under each table.
  3. We write Yes or Partly only when the page says it. If the page is silent, the cell says Not stated.
  4. DigiMaps cells come from our own product audit, and our gaps are marked the same way.
  5. We correct mistakes in the open. Tell us, we re-check the page, and the new date goes on the comparison.

Legend

Yes
The vendor’s own page says it, in words we can quote.
Partly
Stated with a condition: one plan, one platform, or a paid service.
No
The vendor’s page says it is not offered. We use this for our own gaps too.
Not stated
We could not find it on their public pages. Ask them: it may still exist.

What you won’t find on these pages

Comparison pages are easy to rig. These are the rules we hold ourselves to, posted like the rules at a site gate.

  1. 1No competitor logos, and none of their customers named.
  2. 2No scores, star ratings or “winner” badges.
  3. 3No “they don’t have it” unless their own material says so.
  4. 4No prices unless the vendor publishes them. None of the four does, and neither do we yet.
  5. 5A linked, dated source for every competitor fact.

Nine questions to put to every vendor on your shortlist

These are the questions that separate a good demo from a good installation. Ask them of us too. For a fuller list, the guide to choosing indoor wayfinding software walks through criteria and red flags.

Questions to ask any wayfinding vendor, and what a good answer includes
Area Ask A good answer includes
Floor plans Which file do you need from us, and who turns it into the map? A named format (DXF, DWG, PDF), who reviews the result before visitors see it, and what you get back.
Leaving Can we export the whole map ourselves, and in what format? An export you can run yourself, such as IMDF or GeoJSON, not a request to support.
Hosting Where will visitor data live? Can it run on our own network? A region written into the contract, or an on-premises option with a sizing sheet.
Kiosks What does a kiosk do when the network drops or the screen freezes? A live demo with the cable pulled, plus remote reload, screenshots and offline alerts.
Positioning Do we need beacons? What accuracy have you measured in a building like ours? A survey plan and a measured result on your site, not a brochure range.
Accessibility Show a step-free route, and tell us the audit status in writing. A wheelchair route that never uses stairs, and a plain statement of what has and hasn’t been audited.
Languages Show the kiosk in Arabic, or in your second language. Right-to-left layout, search in that script, and a named person who approves translations.
Security Which reports or certificates can you send today, and under what terms? Named documents you can read, or a plain answer that there are none yet.
Price What drives the price, and what is not included? The drivers in writing: area, floors, screens, languages, hosting and map conversion.

Writing a tender? The wayfinding tender specification template turns these into requirements you can paste into an RFP.

Where DigiMaps is behind today

Some of what competitors offer, we don’t yet. You should know before the first call, not after the pilot.

What we can prove, and what we don’t have yet
Gaps in DigiMaps today and what we offer instead
Item Status What we offer instead
Self-serve plan Not offered A 30-minute demo, then a scoped pilot on one site.
Native iOS and Android SDKs On the roadmap An iframe embed with a JavaScript API. Web SDK on request.
Blue dot on phones Not validated yet Kiosk “You are here” and QR hand-off today. Phone positioning as a commissioned pilot, with accuracy measured on your site.
Security certifications None held Security questionnaire, threat model and penetration-test scope under NDA.
Customer references None yet Be one of our first pilot sites.
Published prices Not yet A written quote per venue. Prices go on our pricing page once the first pilots are live.
AR wayfinding and a chat assistant Not offered Spoken step-by-step directions and typo-tolerant search.

Questions about these comparisons

Found an error in a comparison? Tell us and we will check it against the vendor’s page.

Are these comparisons written by DigiMaps?

Yes, and that is why we restrict ourselves to what each vendor states on its own website, with the page linked and the date we read it. Each page also says where the other vendor is the better choice. Treat them as a starting point and confirm every row with the vendor before you buy.

Why does the table say Not stated instead of No?

A missing line on a website does not prove a missing feature. When we cannot find something on a vendor’s public pages, we mark it Not stated and suggest you ask them. We only write No for a competitor when their own material says so.

How current are the comparisons?

All four were checked against the vendors’ live websites on 24 October 2026, and each page shows its date. When a fact changes we update the page and the date. If you spot something out of date, email support@digisigns.in and we will correct it.

Which vendors do you compare, and why these four?

Mappedin, MapsIndoors by MapsPeople, Pointr and 22Miles. They are the vendors closest to what DigiMaps does in kiosks, malls, hospitals and offices. We add a vendor only after reading its site page by page, so the list grows slowly.

Is DigiMaps cheaper than these vendors?

We cannot say honestly. None of the four publishes prices, and DigiMaps does not publish prices yet either. DigiMaps is priced per venue, based on floor area, floors, screens, languages and hosting, and we send a written quote.
