Office wayfinding from the lobby to meeting room 14.03.
DigiMaps is office and workplace wayfinding software. Visitors find a company, meeting room or reception on a lobby kiosk or the directory board by the lifts, then carry the route on their phone by QR. Your building team keeps tenant names current in Studio and signs in to it with your single sign-on.

What visitors ask the lobby desk.
Reception in a busy tower answers the same few questions all morning, usually while signing someone in. Each one already has an answer on a screen nearby.
-
Which floor is Wayvale Advisory on?
Level 24. The board by the lifts lists every tenant by floor, and the Find a company tile does the same on the kiosk.

-
Where is meeting room 14.03?
Type 1403 on the kiosk. Room numbers match with or without the dot.
Kiosk search
-
Which lift do I take?
Directions name the lift and the floor in one step: Take Lift B to Level 14.
KioskPhone
-
Where do visitors sign in?
The Reception tile shows the visitor desk on the ground floor.
Kiosk
-
Is there a step-free way from the car park?
Step-free routes use lifts and ramps only. They never send anyone up a stair.
KioskPhone
-
Where can I get a coffee while I wait?
The Food & coffee tile lists the café, its floor and whether it is open right now.
Kiosk
Room numbers, typos and the word “loo”.
Visitors type what is in their calendar invite, often in a hurry. Search runs on the kiosk itself: room numbers match without separators, one typo is forgiven in longer words, and everyday words such as “loo” lead to the restrooms.

Approved by Workspace admin. Rights and geometry are checked again when it fires. Kiosks load it when idle.
One tower, many tenants, one directory.
Tenants come and go. The building team keeps the lobby screens right without calling anyone in.
- Studio’s Directory lists every company and room, with a column per venue language and a translation state: Missing, Draft, Reviewed or Approved.
- Each room is Public, Staff only or Hidden, with the reason recorded. A tenant’s private floor stays off the lobby screens.
- Content editors update names and hours but cannot change the map itself.
- Schedule a move for 06:00 on Monday. Kiosks load it when they are idle, so nobody loses a route halfway.
- A portfolio of towers runs from one Studio, with one sign-in.
Your Studio team signs in with the identity provider you already run.
Studio is where your facilities, reception and IT people work. Give each person the access they need, venue by venue, and keep a record of who changed what.
- Enterprise SSO via SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect, set up with your IT team during onboarding.
- Six roles: Super admin, Workspace admin, Map editor, Content editor, Statistics viewer and Viewer. SSO never grants Super admin.
- Posting notices and closures is a separate live grant, given per venue.
- After five failed sign-ins in 15 minutes, further attempts are throttled.
- Sign-ins, refusals, profile changes and live content go into an append-only audit log.
- On kiosks, staff-only rooms appear only in staff mode, which opens with a corner gesture and a PIN or staff sign-in.
The screens in an office building, and what runs on each.
One published map feeds all of them. DigiMaps runs in our cloud or on a server on your own network, and the lobby kiosks keep working if the connection drops.
| Screen | Where it goes | What it runs on | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lobby kiosk | Main lobby, car park lift lobby | Android 9 boards with 2 GB, Windows kiosk PCs or ChromeOS, with Chromium or WebView 111+ and WebGL 2. | Resets itself a minute after the last touch. Keeps working from its cached map if the network drops. |
| Directory board | Lift lobbies, every floor | A signage player with a Chromium 111-class browser that can open a web page. Setup notes for Xibo, BrightSign, Yodeck and ScreenCloud. | Display only, scrolls by itself, up to three languages side by side. We test each player model on site. |
| Visitors’ phones | Anywhere | The phone’s browser, from the kiosk’s QR code or a link in the meeting invite. | No app to install. The route keeps its destination, language and step-free choice. |
| Intranet and website | Your own pages | An iframe embed with a JavaScript API. | The SDK is available on request. |
| Idle kiosk screen | Lobby | A signage playlist: picture, video, text, web page or HTML5 slides, in five dayparts. | Building notices between visitors, with proof of play. |

Example scenario, not a customer
A tenant moves floors over the weekend.
A fictional 24-floor tower with two lobby kiosks and a directory board in every lift lobby.
- Fri 17:30 A content editor moves Wayvale Shipping from Level 9 to Level 17 in Studio and submits the change for review.
- Fri 17:45 The workspace admin approves it and schedules release v23 for Monday at 06:00, before the building opens.
- Mon 06:00 The release publishes after a fresh check of rights and geometry. Kiosks pick it up when idle; the lift-lobby boards show Level 17.
- Mon 08:30 Building operations close Lift C for servicing until 14:00. A notice goes to every lobby screen within seconds.
- Mon 09:48 A visitor with a 10:00 meeting types 1403 on the lobby kiosk. The route takes Lift B to Level 14; she scans the QR code and walks.
- Mon 09:49 A minute after she leaves, the kiosk clears her search and route for the next visitor.
Questions office teams ask us
Can tenants edit their own listings?
Not as separate tenant accounts. Studio roles are set per venue rather than per tenant, so the directory stays with the building team: a content editor updates names, hours and visibility, and an admin approves the release. Changes can be scheduled for the day a tenant moves.
Does it connect to room booking or visitor management?
No connector ships today, and DigiMaps does not show whether a meeting room is free. It shows where the room is. Your developers can link to any destination with a deep link, embed the map with an iframe and JavaScript API, or use the REST API and signed webhooks.
Can the directory board run on our existing signage screens?
Usually, yes. The board is a web page, so a player with a Chromium 111-class browser that can open a URL should run it, and there are setup notes for Xibo, BrightSign, Yodeck and ScreenCloud. We have not verified a player model yet, so we test yours on site before go-live.
Do we need beacons for office wayfinding?
No. A lobby kiosk has a fixed You are here point, so routes start where the visitor stands and move to their phone by QR. Phone positioning can be added later as a commissioned pilot: we survey your venue and report the accuracy measured on site.
Which identity providers work with single sign-on?
Single sign-on uses SAML 2.0 or OpenID Connect, and groups map to Studio roles. It has been tested against stand-in identity providers, not yet against a named product, so we set it up with your IT team and test it against your provider during onboarding. SSO never grants the top platform role.
Can we run several office buildings from one account?
Yes. One Studio holds every venue you manage, each with its own buildings and floors, so a portfolio of towers shares one sign-in. Roles can differ from venue to venue.
